In 2016 we have more activities than a sleigh full of gifts - we are working harder than Santa's Elves to make sure we craft a one stop Christmas shop for December!
Here's what we had in 2016...
The BEST Winter Festival in the land....
Following feedback from the over 10 000 people who enjoyed last years event, we have been busy elves this year making sure that we create the best Christmas Shopping Event for you for 2016!
You can get the party started, literally before the Festival even begins with our pop-up Avalanche Parties on Friday 9th (and Saturday 10th) December. The unique setting, fabulous food and entertainment creates the coolest Christmas party around.
Once you’re at the festival there is so much to do. Browse under our HUGE marquee filled with more than 170 artisan producers, crafts people, designers, florists, quality clothing boutiques and homeware. You’ll recognise your favourite local brands and discover new and exciting small companies - check out who's coming here!
There are lots of goodies to eat and drink while you’re at the festival too - how about champagne by the glass, cheese and Prosecco tasting, or mulled wine and mince pies courtesy of sponsor Monks. If you buy one you’ll be contributing to our chosen charity, The Shrewsbury Ark. It’s a really superb charity and one, which it seems all the more apt to support at this time of year.
Kids won’t get bored either with dozens of activities across the weekend, you can read more about these here but safe to say with everything from meeting real reindeer, lambs, donkeys and alpacas right through to gingerbread decorating to pottery painting, storytelling to Guitar Hero there’s something for everyone!
Talking of everyone, why not join in our festival sing-a-long both days at 3pm. There will be at least 100 performers on the stage to leading the way. It was great fun last year and really added to the festive atmosphere in the marquee. It’s just one of the live music events across the weekend which includes choirs, brass bands and musical groups.
Outside the festival gates there’s a number of great activities coinciding with the festival, not least our own Festive Ale Trail, you’ll also find details of the Festive Food Trail in conjunction with Shrewsbury Market Hall, St Chads Christmas Tree Festival and the ‘Fair in the Square’.
Come and see us on 10th and 11th December 2016 at Quarry Park! Enjoy a mulled wine and soak up the Christmas Cheer!
Carols are an important part of the Christmas experience so maybe you can join us in enjoying the old favourites. We were joined by local groups who ensured that your festive season starts with that uplifting feeling that only these festive tunes can achieve. With young and old joining together in a family experience that will never be forgotten Christmas is certainly the time for singing around
the piano. Come and join us each day for a GIANT sing-a-long, each day at 3pm!
Christmas Big Top
Panic Circus are proudly presenting us with a practically perfect present this year! A Big Top stuffed with fun and frolics! Come and have some fun in the (ahem)... Winter!
Learning is fun, especially when you're doing it alongside an expert. If you have always fancied having a go at making a holly wreath, making pottery individually or perhaps learning to wrap your gifts the way they deserve then make sure you leave time in your shopping schedule to get hands on in one of our workshops. Foodie workshops will look at skills such as making the perfect cocktail or cooking the Christmas turkey, and of course the tricks behind making the perfect and beautifully presented Christmas dinner.
The town full of independent shops as well as huge multi-nationals, amazing restaurants, suprises around every corner. Why would you want to go anywhere else for your Christmas shopping experience?
